Meera’s journey is one of emotional fracture and healing, sparked by an unexpected connection with Jacob, a skeptic carrying his own haunted past, and shadowed by a history that refuses to stay behind.

The title reflects the duality at the heart of the story: “Maple” for the Canadian autumn that grounds Meera’s new beginning, and “Monsoon” for the emotional storms of her Indian past. Writing this novella has been a deeply passionate journey, one I hope will resonate with anyone who’s ever felt caught between two worlds—or longed for a second chance at love.
